TEACHING:

Katharine has taught in Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto, both privately and at the Montreal International Music Camp. She teaches a modified version of the Salzedo Technique for harp, and places a solid emphasis on technical training as a strong base for further musical exploration and injury prevention. The harp can be a difficult instrument and it is not uncommon for harpists to experience physical strain related to playing. This approach, while being tailored to the hands of an individual student, can help to prevent repetitive stress injuries and provide the student with a very solid technique to draw upon as they learn more difficult and demanding music.

Rates for teaching are $20 per half- hour and $30 per hour. She welcomes students of all ages and levels of experience.
